Real lift/wagon springs vs air shocks??

Hi all,

I have a 72 Delta 88 2 dr. I'd like the *** end up about 3 inches higher, I dig the 70's rake look.
Trying to decide between wagon springs and air shocks.

This is a hard question, but does anyone know how much lift to expect from wagon springs? I don't want to go crazy...

Air shocks would be adjustable, but is shifting weight from the coils to the shocks a horrible idea?

Thoughts?

thanks,
Kensey

There are no "wagon" springs for the 1971-76 full size cars. The clamshell wagons from those years used a completely different rear suspension with leaf springs to provide clearance for the clamshell tailgate to slide under the load floor. Air shocks are a bad idea, as the shock mounting locations are not designed to carry the weight of the car like that. Your options are air bags inside the stock springs or search through a spring catalog to find the height and spring rate you need.
