Ready For Exhaust System
Well guys after 4 months it looks like I'll be getting my car back from paint. Will be setting the engine and trans and would like opinions on where to get my exhaust. InLine? Don't want the OEM steel (rust) Also I know there has been discussion of mufflers. Just keeping everything here stock. Has the trumpets. Should I get local? Would like to hear from past experiences.
Boy, it's been a long year and probable another long year.
As always thanks!

Look at the top of the page under the classic oldsmobile logo- you'll see a bar of menu items, one of them is called "search". In the search field enter in "Exhaust" and or "mufflers"... you will see a ton of posts asking exactly that question.
I'm not trying to be a dick(and sorry if it seems like that), but seriously there is a ton of info on this site if people would take a 15 mins to search and look through older threads. This exact question has come up 2 or 3 times in the last couple weeks, with the exact same answers. (must be new exhaust season)
and the best part, if you use search, you'll get your answers right now- instead of waiting for people to respond!

There is a company in Georgia that supplies yearone with there exhaust. I have good luck with there exhaust as with fit and price (I purchase direct). The name of the company is muffler centers, inc. in athens Georgia.

I bought a complete system from inlinetube last summer and it is OUTSTANDING in it's factory appearance, sound and fit and finish. It wasn't cheap (but not the most expensive either) but worth every penny IMO.

I went with a Torque Tech 2.5" mandrel bent system.
It works with W and Z manifolds, and places the exhaust tips in the right place.
Picks up power over the compression bent systems.
Super easy installation.
I used band clamps.

I was leaning towards them. Everything I buy from them is top quality. Is the exhaust system a bolt up or do you still have to weld the joints? No experience in this particular area, and the "stuff" you here you can take or leave it. I have a 71 442 what's yours? Thanks for the reply!

I just bought a setup from Inline. It is not installed yet but I am glad to know there is someone who has had a good experience with them.
In general I have found Inline to be very good: quality of parts and customer service. Their catalog is confusing but once you get used to the organization it is fine.
Al: I will let you know how it works out for me.
