Plate, powder, or paint... color?

Just wondering what color and method yall used on the big part at the top here. It holds the brake pedal (or brake/clutch pedals). IIRC, it was bare metal originally.

I was thinking of having it plated Silver Zinc (in addition to the AT / backdrive linkage frame bracket pictured). I already had my brake pedal powdercoated flat/satin black. On that note... anyone know why the pedals were only painted about 3/4 the way to the top, then abruptly ends where it appears it was masked off? I always thought it looked odd.

they were dipped in black paint. the pedals and mount were assembled prior to painting so they only dip it that far so the paint does not get in the pivot point. that is the same reason the a-arms are only painted to the ball joint. the ball joint was installed first and they dip them just short to keep paint out of the joint. everyone likes to think these cars were built like show cars but the manufacturer only cared that it lived for a few years and expected you to buy a new one then.

Because that is about all of the pedal that the new buyer would see.
They did not want paint in the pivot areas and they did not want to do any creative masking.
