Pitman arm bolt torque
I’ve got the torque spec in the csm - my question is ... do I just turn the steering gear to the stop and use it to hold the pitman arm while I torque it? Or will that screw up the innards of the steering box? ~ thanks all

If you are talking about the nut that holds the pitman arm to the steering box shaft, yes, all I've ever done is turn the box all the way to the stop and torque it. At 180 ft-lbs, you don't want to be reacting that load with the lock pin in the steering column. If, however, you are talking about the nut that holds the center link pin to the pitman arm, at 35-45 ft lbs I just use the steering column lock pin and it works fine. No ill effects.
