Need Help with Trunk Lid Spring Bar Position

Hey Guys,
Looking for some help on the proper "torsion bar" position for the '69 A Body. The trunk lid on my H/O does not seem to open far enough and I keep whacking my head. I've seen '68-'69 442 coupes that open further, just wondering if the position of the spring bars is causing this. Mine are set in the middle as per the pic below (not sure if this is a requirement on the H/O because of the spoiler) Can someone confirm what position they should be in?

Thanks.

The bar on my '69 4-4-2 convertible (Fremont car) is set just like yours - at the middle setting. The bar on my '68 4-4-2 convertible (Lansing car) is on the bottom setting. Tension for both trunk lids feel the same to me. Neither of my cars has the spoiler and I wonder if the extra weight takes away from the trunk lid's ability to open fully.

I don't think the torque rod controls how far the lid opens. It only controls how much effort it takes to raise and lower the lid.

If you put the torque bar on the upper notch the lid should open a little more. Do one bar at a time. Check for difference.
