Check out the finished product. Overall I am pleased. I used metal filler and sanded it down. Then I painted over it with 2 coats of stop rust. I never intended my car to fetch $400,000 at Barret Jacksons but now it is one step closer to being ready to turn heads at a local cruise and show and shine.

Are you going to re-paint the whole car or just have a shop repaint the areas that you did the work on? Just wondering how a paint shop matches the several year old white color. I have rust issues on my 57 and will be facing the same paint problem when I finish the body repair this winter. Go job on the repair. You will lead the yacht parade this year

He could paint spots on the rest of the body with that color and simulate a giraffe.

I will probably buy some primer soon and start sanding and priming each panel with foam rollers. While I am doing the body work I will remove the chrome and eventually take it to a shop to get sprayed. I don't want to just Macco paint it but I don't intend on spending $10,000 on paint either.

I should post a picture of the finished window. The shop did an EXCEELLENT job installing it.

The clean up looks great. Are you going to fill the holes with anything? POR putty, window sealer, or something else?

I had the same kind of problem with my new ride but it was alot worst...The rear window sill was brittle and I had no problem taking it out...I actually had to cut the lip off and replace it with metal...It took me about 8 times before i got the factory form back...I actually used naval jelly to dissolve as much rust as i good which actually did a good job..I thin grinded the hail out of it...I then used eastwood convertor and coatd everything and made sure it was smooth, now I am just waiting for a new vinly top...Pretty good for my first repair job take alook at the pic...The was still some fuzzies left from the old top but that will be covered up by the new top...
