Hi
Recently I was repairing some rear brake lines on 71 442 when I noticed a small buckle in the frame just under seem where door meets rear quarter on driver side. After a little more investigation I noticed rear tire is pushed over about a inch to right(dog walk). Anyway my question is what would the cost be to straighten this, the bodies clean and if did get straightened is it going to mess with the body and paint. Also if I left it would torque from 455 with optimal traction make this worse? It's so slightly shifted that I could live with it but plan on taking car to track and do not want it to become more of an issue. Thank you

 

Take it to a body shop and see what they suggest most frame pulls should correct what you described and they should be able to walk you through pro and cons my shop charges 50hr but they are a collision repair not classic restoration just to give an idea

Wait till you see the hydraulics they use to straighten your frame! Holy Toledo! It can be done though and should be.

 

Do I need the body off before straightening

 

No body doesn't need to come off , but this is where taking it in letting them see and evaluating the damage will come in on some frame pulls it will need doors,fenders and hoods/deck kids realigned depending on how it was hit/ repaired
