I know I have seen this before. But what are the differences between the 70,71 and 72 core supports and are they interchangeable??

 

Each year is different. 1970 is completely different from 71-72 due to the shape of the grilles and the latch location.

1970 on top, 71 below.








1971 and 72 have a minor difference to accommodate the 1972 grille shape.

Ironically this book shows a 442 grille in the 1972 core support, which doesn't the bump for clearance. Only the Cutlass S and Supreme grilles needed it. The 442 grille castings were the same as for 1971, just the paint was different.
