bumper energy absorber

Hi. got 74 supreme. I removed the front bumper in order to align it. But as you can see on the photos the bumper energy absorber is pressed all the way in. is there a way to starch it back to a normal condition?
I don’t mind if it will not be useful as energy absorber. All I want is to make the bumper fit in place.

All thread and crank it back out, then a bracket to act as a stop to keep it from going back in?

Time to start a parts wanted ad if you can't grind the welds to free it. Your other option is fab a drop in replacement piece to take up the space where the shocks go.

Sorry. My mistake. It was not welded. I was able to streach it 2 centimeters out of four that i need. But the rods collapsed. I'll try tomorrow to use forged rods.
