Body mount shims to fix door vertical alingment?

I'm re-assembling a 70 cutlass convertible from a full frame off restoration. The body fits great, I have the doors on, but now I have slightly larger gap at the top of the doors at front fendor. the bottom, and rear fit nicely. I've heard that you can correct this with body mount shims, any idea if this is feasable? It is possible that the new body mounts are slightly different from the original equipment, causing the change in door alignment. (see image attached) Any ideas appreciated!

The combination of shims need to go under the core support mount and the fenders to correct that.

It's on the tires and not on jackstands right?

Last night I loosened core supports, loosened fender bolts, raised to fix gap, added 1/16" shim under each side, re tightened, gap corrected! Thanks for your input.
