body mount bushings

I am restoring a 68 cutlass convertible.I sent out the frame to be soda blasted and some of the holes that the body mount bushings sit on are rusted just like the pictures in the previous forum. I was figuring to weld washers does anyone know the size

thanks

We used Caterpillar washers on my convert. Trimmed out the cruddy part on the frame and then shaped the washer with a grinder to fit the hole. Weld in place and dress the mess.

The Cat washers are about three inches across and thicker than the frame metal with about a one inch hole.

Bruce, I'd like to pose your question to the members as well.

I'm guessing there are some opinions on this subject if I'd hunt deep enough. But anybody have any good or bad experiences with the do-nuts recently? I'm contemplating replacing mine after over 50 years of being smooshed b/w the chassis & body.

Personally, I'm not looking for aftermarket material or performance upgrades; looking for big, durable do-nuts that provide the factory cushion & durability. Who's used any lately? Anybody go straight to Steele or Metro?
