Just about to take my body off the frame 72 cutlass S Question how many bolts do you have to remove I have taken 8 out in total i see 4 other mounts which look to be sealed no bolts at the bottom .

any help appreciated

That sounds about right
If they look like body mounts but don't have a bolt, they are rubber pads.

not counting fwd of the firewall:
1 or 2 at the cowl
1 at the front seat area
1 at rear seat area ?
1 at the far back


each side of course

 

I'm guessing you don't have a 1972 Cutlass Assembly Manual? Here's what you're looking for. Don't worry that it shows a sedan, the mounts are the same for all Cutlass models

There should be a couple more, if like a 1966. On each side, there are two at firewall, one each under door, behind rear wheel, and at back corner.

 

The diagram above shows only one at the firewall on each side, but one bolted mount in front of the rear wheel. You can see access holes from the bottom of the frame for all hidden positions.

 

And there are 2 at the radiator core support, different kit.

 

yep got the core support ones fell to bits 40 years of oil I guess
