AMD '72 442 rear bumper review
Finished installing the new AMD 442 cutout rear bumper and thought I'd provide an overall review - in general seems to be a great value for the price ($290 shipped from AMD) - excellent driver quality chrome and with some minor tweaking, literally dropped right into place. The inside brackets which mount the tail light housings all required a minor bit of outward bending to allow the housings to drop properly into place. The bracket holes all lined up properly. Back-up light housing brackets didn't require any adjustment.
The new Inline Tube bumper pads I separately purchased slid right into place over each corner without issue.
The bumper is fully chromed front and back sides. Chrome finish generally excellent but not flawless - some waviness can be seen in the finish, most prominently over by the left tail light. It isn't terrible all things considered - you have to get up close to see it and even at that, it's not objectionable enough to justify an $800 OEM re-chrome tag for a driver-quality cruiser like mine.
Packaging was sturdy, the bumper was fully wrapped in coated plastic. Took 15 minutes to install once everything had been transferred over from my old bumper.
Next, off to the exhaust shop to have them adjust the pipe placements and mount my new set of Motor City repro trumpet tips!
