AC Delete and Inner Fender Removal

Just ordered my AC Delete panel for my 69 Cutlass from acdelete.com. It gives some high level installation procedures, but assumes you know how to remove the inner fenders. I unfortunately do not other than taking off the fender which I do not want to do. What is the best way to remove the passenger side inner fender? Also anyone have experience with this product.

Thanks

Without taking the fender off your going to have to remove your tire and remove all the bolts from the inside of the fender lip. 1 from the frame, around 4 from the fender and then theres 3 or 4 in the radiator support just opposite of the battery area. Then its going to take a little pushing and pulling to get it out. Hope this helps out!

I installed the same one you're getting. You'll have to drill the mounting holes in the new panel, so make a cardboard template in the shape of the panel (as the instructions state) and use it to transfer the hole location of the studs coming through the firewal to the panel. I also had to trim the edge of the metal A/C duct where it comes through the firewall so the panel would fit flush to the firewall. You may or may not have to do this depending on how the duct was fit up at the factory. As long as you take your time and double check your measurements and marks before drilling the holes, it's pretty straight forward. Good luck. Rob

Thanks for the input. I wrapped it up today and really was pretty easy. Inner fender came right out. Pushed in forward and then dropped the back down. Slid right out the bottom. Had to trip the ducting like you said which was a bit tougher than I thought as I could not get my air cutoff tool in there. Used metal snips, but they struggled with the thicker portion.

Ok, I'm lucky. I don't have AC but I would like to know if the procedure to access the rear firewall area (like to replace the defroster blower motor) is the same for 71/72.

Hello,
I have my AC delete cover and am putting my 68 back together(after10 long years) did you cut your cover and install the AC resistor/relay on the box? how did you handle that part? Whats up with that little hose off the blower motor?
Thanks for your input and help!

The only trimming I had to do was on the firewall itself. The vent door has some sheet metal that exends out past the firewall and had to be trimmed so the cover could mount flush. Also had to open up 2 or 3 mounting holes a little as the alignment was not perfect. I did not reinstall blower or reuse any relays.
