71 cutlass help

So I am looking to raise the rear of my 71 cutlass s. I want to raise it maybe 3-6 inches and put some bigger tires to get more of a drag feel/look. Anyone know the best way to go about doing this?

You are going to be throwing the front end geometry out, and altering the center of balance, reducing stability. IMHO there really is no good way to do this. That said usually what I have seen used is air shocks, or bags. They make blocks that fit between the coils I would not recommend any of these options. You might look into using springs from a vista cruiser. They will probably only give you a couple inches, but they are factory, if not necessarily correct. If you do do this I would recommend a front end alignment at the same time. this is the only way I would do this kind of alteration, but I have always liked lowering the car as opposed to raising it. Increases spring rate and stability.
