Could really use some advice- installing new coils, my Motors Manual alludes to there being 2 "drainage" holes in the lower control arm "cup". There is only one hole in mine, should the pigtail of the new spring cover the hole or stop just short of it?

I'm pretty sure the spring tail should sit in the hole to keep it from rotating.

 

I don't know what the "Motors Manual" is but the 68 Assembly Manual showed specifically how to index the rear springs so I'd imagine it says where to set the fronts also. If you don't have the assembly manual please post and I'll try to dig mine out.

I think he's talking about the small 1/4" to 3/8" ish holes that allow the water to drain in the cup where the spring sits

 

I set mine to where the end of the spring is covering about 1/4 of the hole. Worked fine. The 72 had one hole as well.
