Wanted 70 post coupe
Wanted 70 post coupe
Looking for a clean minimal rust 70 post coupe, for a project. Car must be a non air car, engine, and trans do not mater. Open to 442, or F85 as long as it is a two door. I would prefer a clean dry western car. Not interested in anything that's already restored. I'm in Michigan, but willing to travel, for the right car.
Thanks
Aaron

Hey Aaron - here is one near Raleigh but has some rust issues. I don't know anything about it.

bad timing this one just sold ... great builder with special order paint code , black bucket seat car, 4 speed and 390 gear. Non AC plain jane manual steering and brakes.

was going to go for it but too many projects; lucky winning bid most likely does not yet know what he won.

Gearman69 I emailed you last week, and asked if you car was a AC or not, it's a small world when it comes to these cars. I keep checking on these leads, and so far the non air cars are rust buckets, and the clean cars have air. That makes sense, all the Texas cars needed air, michigan cars just needed heat.
OK, at this point I need to ask. Why do you want a non-AC car? Why not get either and remove the AC if you don't want it? GEARMAN69 indicated the heater only cars are worth more money. Why is that?
I have a Fremont car, but it had AC. All the HVAC was removed from my car by a previous owner. I originally thought I'd want to add some HVAC back in the car, but I've driven it down to 34 degrees F with a light coat and really don't see a reason to add any HVAC equipment. I can't see myself driving it much colder than 34 degrees, and if we get a hot 60 degree day here in MN I can just roll down the window.
I still want to educate myself on why someone would specifically want a non-AC version of this car, if you wouldn't mind sharing this information.

The post cars are "different"
lightest weight chassis and no vents / ducts in the dash pad with a non air
as well as the "post" around the door / window and sundry
not all about creature being comfortable with a/c and or heater
there is a car that came from california now stored in minnesota that will be sold soon NOT MINE
I'm just not a fan, of ac cars. I have always preferred striped down sleeper type cars. I am almost finished with a 69 442 4 speed with air, and had to replace all, of those parts because they were missing, and every time I look at it I think never again. Nothing wrong with ac and options just not my thing. I want the car to be heat only, and look correct. That heater is nice to have, for defoging the windshield on those cool Michigan fall evening cruises.
Thanks for explaining that to me guys. One thing I personally really like about my 1970 post car is all the window chrome. I really like the look of '60s cars too, and all that chrome around the windows kind of ties in the '60s to the 1970 model, at least for me anyway. Kind of the best of both worlds. The single chrome non-sport mirror helps too.

https://hartford.craigslist.org/cto/...267218391.html not mine, maybe too finished for you.i believe at one time it was priced around $10k
Still looking, I found a nice one last month told the guy I would pay his asking price, and he changed his mind, and said he was keeping it. Very frustrating, this is the second person that has pulled this on me. Neither of them were members on here. If anyone knows, of a clean non A/C 70 post F85 please let me know. Running driving survivor, or barn find without drivetrain either way.
Thanks
Aaron

Jcdynamic88, that car appears to be decent, and I have been watching it for a long time. I think it’s been for sale for a couple of years. I don’t mind paying up for a good car, but $12000 is to much for a car that I will be pulling off the frame to build. Thanks for the post I do appreciate it.
this probably doesn't fit for you https://nh.craigslist.org/cto/d/post...489344497.html
Checked on the New Hampshire car, but it’s nothing I’m interested in. Owner said it has bondo in front, and behind rear wheel openings, and trunk lid is loaded with it. He said it is leaking from the roof, and the frame has been patched behind the left front wheel. I’m still looking.
i found mine right here..took 2 years, but i finally got one...tuff to get in todays world...no one wants them, but people that have them want a lot for them..
after looking for so long i settled on a western car, with nice floors and trunk, and just came to terms with the idea it would need some 1/4 panel work...other wise i realized i was going to have to really pay up...
