Wanted...64-72 Daily driver/project

Hey all,

Just sold my 64 dynamic this morning and I have a pocket full of play money for a new project. I'm looking for a daily driver/project 64-72 cutlass/f-85 2dr hardtop. I know that's a pretty vague description but i'm open to whats available. I have a 6-7k budget for the car alone. Shoot me a message or call. I'm just outside Chicago and i'd prefer local but willing to travel a bit if needed.

thanks,
Craig

My hunt is still on for a decent car. Willing to travel further seeing as all the IL cars i've looked at in the last few weeks were rotted out pretty bad. I'm going to be near Roswell GA in the first few weeks of June visiting family and passing through Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee down I-65. Hopefully crossing paths with something nicer down there. I'm leaning more toward 68-72 at this point but i'm still open to suggestion on a nice 64-67 driver cutlass/f-85 as well.

Thanks
Craig

Hey Craig,
How about a rare Jetstar 1 with 394 - CA car, 2nd owner now for 25 years, 15,000 original miles. Wont get it for $7000, but I would go to $10,000 from $11,111 at now. Can send pics, definite project car, but not rust bucket.

I had a member on here nice enough to offer up one of his project cars.
It's a 1969 cutlass holiday coupe, 350 4bl made in Ontario Canada if I decoded the vin right, started with 3368792. Nice solid car to work on and enjoy. The current paint and trim is kind of silly, a 69 h/o with 442 badges..... which it is neither hah. Anyway i'm pretty happy with it and currently rewiring and cleaning up under the hood. i'll have plenty of questions along the way i'm sure.

Cman7713...looks like you scored a nice car for the $$$. It's neither an H/O or a 442 but at least it looks tasteful...doesn't look silly. Good luck with your new project and have fun.

BTW...are those cars in the background yours as well? If so...give up some details on them.

Nice project. doesn't look silly at all. Does it run? No way you paid 6-7k. Could you tell us what you paid, or is that too personal?

Gee, now you've put him in a spot. What if he DID pay 6 or 7K for it?

Thanks for the compliments guys. It is a solid running car with some minor mechanical and reassembly before being able to be put back on the road. Im not sure how to take the comment no way i paid berween 6-7k for it? I thought i was getting a nice deal for how complete and solid it is at less then 6k. The interior has also been mostly restored which was a nice plus. And yes its buckets/ column... previous owner was in the process of the conversion but didnt complete. Buckets are from a different year not sure which.

I was just saying if he got it at that price it was a really great deal. I meant no disrespect. Just jealousy.
