No responses so far so I'll consider one without factory paperwork.

John,

You're right. I too have found a few pretty good cars and they are priced to perfection. The problem for me is that a $40K W-31 NEEDS to have paperwork and all the original factory components that it left the factory with including the sheet metal. The market for these cars is and has always been very, very thin so if you pay $35K plus, you're going to own it until you die.

That said, I would really pay up for a fully documented, no stories F-85 W-31 4 speed, radio delete and a SZ coded W-27, as long as it left the factory that way.

Scott Morrell has the car but I don't think he will part with it. Gene Wrays white car that I sold him. Sure would like to have it back but wanted a 71 W-30 conv worse at the time so we did a 3 way swap.

That is a real good one that I would probably be interested in. Was that a Cutlass or F-85?

F-85 with 4 speed radio delete and low gear W-27 . You got the extra set of gears that I had with the 27 you bought from me. It was a low 40 car back then.

John,

I used the 3.90 ring & pinion from that car when I rebuilt another W-27 I currently have. It's all new just looking for a car to stick it in.

Have you talked with joe galloway in New Castle IN 765-529-8243

He has a fully documented 1970 Cutlass S W-31 post coupe that he was selling.... This car is the rarest of the rare....One of 116 Cutlass "S" post coupes manufactured......Has invoice , build sheet and protecto plate.....

I ordered/bought the car new and owned it for 35 years before selling it to joe.

Bob,

I did speak with him and it is a wonderful car. That said, it is not exactly what I am looking for but it is one of the better cars currently available. I have not ruled it out.

Yes it is. By the way, did you see my old black 69 W-31 on ebay some weeks back? It never did sell.

John,

I probably should not have sold it but I had it 17 years or so. You're right, it is too much money considering what it needs and once again, a very, very thin market.

know a guy in NJ almost done restoring an aspen green, all numbers matching 442 post coupe 4 speed with OAI. I think he'll want 25K when done or 18K not completely put back together yet and with a few minor parts not yet obtained. e-mail rutgersfan1@hotmail.com if you are interested.

How about a solid F85 post non A/C car with manual disc brakes? I was planning on doing a W-31 tribute with it myself.

I have a good friend with a REAL GOOD '69 f85 post W31 stick. I know it's not a '70 but.......... was Hemmings Muscle machine of the Year, lots of ink on the car in several mags. Call Dave 410-206-9427 if interested.

Thanks for the response on the '69. I'm familiar with that car but I really have no interest in it.

That said, I'm still looking for a documented '70 2 door sedan and I will pay a fair price for one.

Proabably somewhere north of $40K The engine builder of both the '69 and rebuild of the '70 must have seen this 'cause he contacted me. He (Steve) most likely would know more on the '70. I heard awhile back the '70 was for sale in the $40s. Hope this helps. Until next time....Dave.

OK guys and gals. This is the exact car I've been trying to locate for the last few years. The partial vin number is 336770M XXXXXX and the trim tag information is 10-10 paint, 934 gold buckets. The car was sold by my friend in 1977 to someone in Wooster, Ohio and was only seen once since then. The original paint photo is from 1974 and the race paint is from 1976.

Does anyone recognize this car? It is the first stock eliminator car I ever drove and I would really like to own it, in any condition.
