Rallye 350

Rallye 350
I am beginning my search for a Rallye. Ideally, looking for something somewhat close to the center of the country.
I have some seat time in a friend's F85, and previously owned a Cutlass S Rallye, so open to any body style. I would prefer to buy a driver/driver+ car, really not looking for a full-blown restoration, Beautiful when done that way, but I like to drive 'em as much as possible, so that'd be a waste. I'm not overly concerned with numbers-matching, as long as it's Olds powered.
Like everyone else, completeness is a major plus, although I would at least consider cars that need the odd piece or two if priced accordingly.
Budget, since it'll be asked, is probably into the low 20s, but is somewhat flexible.
I would prefer to buy from an owner rather than a broker/consigner, as I feel there is little value in buying from someone that knows nothing about the cars in general or specifically to the model. I'd rather buy from somebody that loves/loved the car.
I guess this is going to come off making me sound like a jerk. Maybe I am, I just know I'm tired of chasing online classifieds that are in some cases years old, and getting no responses to inquiries.
Thanks to anybody that can offer any help!

Brian, I searched over a year for my 70 442. During this time. I've seen a couple of really nice Rallye cars for sale by real owners in the lower to mid 20's. Be patient and stick to your predetermined criteria list. And no, that does not make you a jerk,,,it is your money after all, spend it wisely.
Good luck in your search.

Here is one in NV. Southwest cars tend to be less prone to rust. A little higher than your target price, but he claims to have owned it for 20 years.

How would this work? This is offered by Randy Neill who is a C/O member and NTOC member as well. I do know him, but am not acting as an agent. I figured it may be agreeable.

I get what you are saying. That Rallye 350 is as close to junk as you can get. That car is WASTED !! It would cost way way more to bring that back then it will ever be worth. 9 grand is a crazy starting point. Even if the hood wasn't trashed still no way. Ridden hard and put away wet. It is just a yellow Cutlass really. No W motor in a Rallye 350.

The ads you posted. I don't see a Rallye 350 bringing 45k. Maybe that's just me.

My first Olds, bought in 1969, was a 1964 Dynamic 88 4-door hardtop with the 394 two barrel. It was pretty stripped but to me it was a luxury barge with power steering and brakes, nice dark green interior and no rust! (I lived in the Chicago area at that time.) I did a little paint work and a tuneup and drove it with no issues for a couple of years. I traded it for a 64 Jetstar 1 in powder blue with dark blue pinstripes. Buckets, console shift, Starfire engine and 3.42 gears, WOW. It had high miles so I had to do brakes, motor mounts, exhaust, etc. but it was the fastest car I had ever owned up to that point (1971) It was this car that led me to buy my 63 Starfire 40 years later.
Sorry, no pictures of the Jetstar
