Glade Green 1969 4-4-2

I will be 70 years old on January 17 and would L-O-V-E to locate a 1969 4-4-2 similar to the one I had when I was 16; it was, is and always will be my favorite car...and I've owned a bunch. This car was a 4487 in Code 57 (Glade Green) with Code 934 Interior (Gold Bucket seats) with A/C, Rally Pac and a 4-speed/Console. I could live with a color change as long as the Cowl Tag denoted CODE 57 PAINT. I would also consider a 4477 (POST model) and anything from a project up to a completed restoration...anywhere in the country.

If anyone knows of such a car out there, I would be most appreciative for any feedback offered!

Thanks in advance,

Buddy Holt

It's the car that Rcktdoc posted here on June 5, 2015 (the day that my first grandchild was born!): "another 1969 post restoration". It's still in pieces, but complete and well done with lots of NOS and correct parts. Looks just like it did in the photos posted then. I will post pics when it's complete; hopefully by the Fall. Legendary says I'll be September getting the front seat covers. Buddy

Kudos to Patton for helping you find this car. Glad to see somebody carry the torch to the finish line. Frame off restorations are a tough haul from start to finish. Keep us updated on the progress of your time machine. You will feel 16 again when you get to drive it.

I had a 72 Cutlass S when I was 19. Like you, it was always my favorite car. I was able to snag a 70 442 a couple of years ago and I relive my youth every time I'm behind the wheel. These are great cars!

I’ll need to go back to work like I was 16 to pay for it. Seriously, Greg has been the BEST and I’m proud to be the new caretaker of this jewel!

Nice! The only major change I’m making is replacing the 930 interior with 934. It’s not so bad since the car needs carpet, headliner and front hides anyway.

Glade Green '69 4-4-2

Well, after nearly a month my long sought after 1969 Glade Green 4-4-2 is finally here in North Carolina! I traveled to Northern Illinois to pick it up the weekend of January 28th; however, a winter storm blew in "unexpectedly" with 8+" of snow and high temps in the teens. Since Greg lives high on a hill, I was unable to back my rig up his driveway to load the car after an hour of trying. I was able to pull straight up and loaded the engine, transmission, hood, seats, starter, flywheel, bell housing, wheel houses, rims, driveshaft, etc. I think the folks at Hagerty were very confused when I notified them that the car was still in IL, but the drivetrain, interior, hood, rims, etc were in NC. This past weekend ( 2/10) I made the 2,000 mile journey again to retrieve the car. It is now at the reassembler's shop and I hope it will be ready within 6 months. The paint is absolutely gorgeous and I did decide to leave the interior Black to match the cowl tag. I know Greg had reservations about selling this car, but he can rest assured it is going to be loved for years to come. I will keep you posted on the progress and have added a couple of pics today.

Again, I would like to thank Patton Glade for his assistance in helping me find this car!
