The one on ebay is my buddy's car, stand up guy.
He is just thinning his herd. it's not a clone. He has had it over 10+ years
super nice car, radio and heater delete with 4 speed with all the correct stuff.
Even if it was a clone it's worth the asking price. it's that nice. underneath is amazin.
but if you want docs i guess it's not the car for you.

Have you seen documentation to verify this car? As discussed here heater delete was not an option in 1970 & the car lacks sport mirrors that were included with the W-31 optioned car.

I am not saying that this car is not a W-31 I am asking if you have seen proof that it is?

So you are saying that this car is a real W-30 because your friend owns it even though it has no documentation. Sorry that just is not a convincing argument.

The OP is asking for a W-31 car. I am simply pointing out to the OP that he needs to be aware that this car is not documented. Buyer beware.

Were you the one with whom we were discussing this last month?

Because I have found some 1970 Mopars with heater-delete. Supposedly they were available for cars destined for Hawaii and Puerto Rico. I would like to see a source that says deleting the heater was not available. In fact, a Mopar person who's familiar with this said "The mandate wasn't for the heater but for the defroster and since they were all one system it mostly referred to as a heater mandate."

Yes, but long years of research and intense study have led me to the belief that a Mopar is not an Oldsmobile.

EDIT: Okay, okay, I read the link. But I still couldn't resist saying that.

Previously, you were saying it was against the law, and now you're saying it depended on the brand?

I tend to think Chrysler is not unique in this case.

No, nobody is saying it was a W30 we are talking about the W31
I was just trying to help the guy out and said call him and talk to the Owner he knows the info on the car and is a stand up guy Nuff said.

Obviously I meant W-31. W-30 was a typo.

I am not doubting you or your friendship with the owner but neither you nor he can prove it is a W machine. If he has proof he would show it.

Personally I suspect that this car started life as an ac equipped Cutlass and that is why it now sports "heater delete" and no sport mirrors.

W31s that have both paperwork and numbers matching orig drivetrains are not easy to find for sale.

Good luck with your search.

Regarding the Agean Aqua Cutlass. If the seller wanted to shed some light on the questions at hand, a clear pic of the trim tag, engine and trans stamp could help answer some questions........after all he is an OLDs guy and should know the info they may provide.

I find the ebay action for this car amusing. Yes, I'm easily entertained : )

Thoughts

The last time the car was on eBay it bid up over $40k. Now it is listed with a buy it now of $38500. Anyone else find that odd?

No, just like the people that talk the talk are the same people that bid and don't buy.

Please spare the insults to our intelligence.

If the high bidder bailed then where are all the under bidders?

Not good at the link thing, but I went to craigslist Los Angeles and looked under cars for sale by owner and searched Oldsmobile. Posting number is 5310722990.

That W-31 listed in LA is actually in the Chicago area. He has been trying to sell it ever since I saw it at the muscle car show in Rosemont, Il. four years ago..... it's a very nice car!
