Unhappy 1959 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight (98) Holiday SceniCoupe

Project car - needs full restoration.

This is "Angelina"; a true, no-post coupe - one of only 13,669 made. I call her that because she is long, lean and deserves a lot of attention. Given the rarity of this classic (and parts), I had planned on building her into a resto-rod. However, many of the parts are interchangable with the other GM '59 C-Body models and even more can be replaced with more modern and safer parts.

The stats:
1959 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight (98)
Model #3837 Holiday SceniCoupe
Engine: 394 CI V-8, 315 hp (Olds' 1st big block Rocket)
Weight: 4,360 lbs
Wheelbase: 126.3"

Unfortunately, I have fallen on very hard times and can no longer plan better times for her. Even if I sell the Olds, it probably won't stop foreclosure, but she still needs a good home.

I drove the Olds into the garage 3 yrs ago, but have not started it up since. If you're looking for a daily driver, this isn't it. This is a project car. I have parts that I spent 2 yrs collecting and I have more than $5,000 invested in the project. I have one picture online and have many that I will be more than happy to provide.

Parts include:
Trunk pan (NOS), Rocker panels (NOS), Inner Rocker panels (NOS), 88 Aluminum Dash (used), Rear Bumper (used & rechromed), RR & RL Spear Trims (used), Rear Qtr panel fins (used), Heat/AC Controls (used), Backup Lights (NOS), GM/Olds Manual (used), Grill (used), Rear Deck Handle and Trim (used), Hood Lip Trim (used), License Tag Lights (used), Front Directional Lens' (used)

Looking for $3,500 OBO For the car AND all the parts I have purchased.
I cannot do delivery, but if you want to make arrangements, I will facilitate in any way I can.

Please, don't be afraid to make an offer...I've had a few inqueries for pictures, but no offers. I have a full 360 of the interior - not pretty, but it's freakin huge!

Thanks, Olds64. My father's favorite quote was, "This, too, shall pass." Sort of a race against time right now. Started my own biz 10 months ago because no one wanted to hire a middle-aged, self-taught programmer. Deep down, I secretly hope no one will take an interest and that I will be able to finally rebuild this car after soooo many delays. But the reality is more likely that I will never see her all dressed up...

I'll take $1200, just for the car, if anyone is interested. I'll just have to save the parts for ebay or something.

Best of luck. I hope you get lucky enough not to have to sell and can work on your dream in the future.

Thanks, Cameo. Unfortunately, I'm already in the court system fighting foreclosure - just another statistic, right? It ain't over til it's over, but in the meantime, due to all the requests for more pics, I created an online album. Here's the link:

Thanks again,
Dan

Oh you must listen to a show I heard. There was a guy on the Alex Jones Show last week. An attorney who has so many ways for you to stay in your home and stop the foreclosures. I forgot his name but just google Alex Jones foreclosure and also go on YouTube on TheAlexJonesChannel. This is so important for a guy getting hosed by the system. You can fight back.

I sent you an email so you can ask any questions. I do wish to update this ad for anyone interested, though. As I have written before, I have $5000 invested and I would take $1200 just for the car and not the parts. However, instead of the $3500 or BO for both, I would take $2200 for everything.

Thanks,
Dan

That would be an awesome car when done. The original color appears to have been burgundy mist as shown on underside of the trunk lid. I have a 98 conv that was the same color and a project car as well. I hope someone snaps it up soon. Good Luck with the sale.

Still hanging in there and I still have the Olds. I just relisted it last week and again today on eBay. Looking to get $2500 and I will include all the parts and all the garage tools I bought to do the work. A prospective buyer recently came by to see the car and said the stainless steel chrome was in really good condition - he would know better than I and anyone wanting to stop by and check it for themselves is welcome to.

Not sure if I can post the link to ebay, so I won't. But anyone not finding it, let me know and I'll send it to you.

Thanks,
Dan

Yes, I searched for "1959 Oldsmobile 98" in as many different ways as I could think of, and I couldn't find it, either.

Well, a long time, but the Olds has found a new home with a gentleman in Louisiana. This car has been sold. Thanks.
