Very cool three-on-the-tree. Only 8,739 flattops made in 1969, compared to about 4X as many Vistas.

Wonder if it's factory discs? MC looks correct.

That would make it one of one, I bet.

Correct (but possibly replaced) M/C and the correct metering valve. No A/C (in Phoenix). Appears to have bondo in the rt rear quarter, but hard to tell. Crappy repaint.

I bet somebody will save this one. Price doesn't seem bad. It looks pretty solid but paint, interior and Vintage Air are going to be expensive.

Of course, you can save money just by living in the Pacific Northwest!

Can't have too many.

The car is manual steering and manual crank back window. The power disc brakes are factory. Spent about half an hour talking to the seller. I believe the car is legitimately 44K miles.

I'm going to start a build thread rather than putting all that here.

Being that it has manual steering and power disc brakes and a three on the tree has got to be very rare car. I wonder if it was ordered that way?

Almost certainly the car was ordered that way. The more photos I see, the more convinced I am that the 44K miles is legitimate. The seller sent me this photo. When was the last time you saw the original radiator cap alignment decal in place?

You really have a knack to finding the rare ones, how much of the history do you have on the car?

I would suggest the car was ordered new for a "Sales Rep" who carried larger sized samples. Large companies ordered fleets of cars. Exec's received a few of the deluxe (loaded) models and the sales staff received the "bare bones" vehicles from the fleet.
.....Just my two cents worth.

The car has a parking sticker from a military base in NV, so I'm not so sure about that.

Joe, you may be right, just an alternate idea on my part. A title search may give more ideas. I wonder what the "house paint" makeover is hiding underneath. What year parking permit ?
Do you think LBJ or Nixon could have ridden in the car when they visited the base ?

Well, LBJ was gone by January of '69, so the build date may be able to rule that out.

standard equipment basically just little to no options, maybe power disc is standard on a cutlass cruiser? MY 70 has em but its got PS AC and 310 hp and a tow axle also too

Nope, just 4-wheel manual drum, same as any other A-body from the era.

JL2 power front discs were made standard on the Vista for the 1970 model year, but were still optional in 1969. The rest of the A-body line didn't get power front discs standard until the 1973 model year. Note that the Vista has always had the bigger back brakes as well.

Well, if it really gets picked up this afternoon as promised, it should be here by the end of the week.

Keep in mind that this photo isn't the car I'm buying, it's one I found on the interwebs that sold in 2017 in the same color as mine was originally, and with the same three speed manual trans.

Glad to see that wagon sold! I hung out with the seller at MCACN and he has (and has had) some interesting stuff!
The current color put me off, good to see it is 53 color code, a beauty.

You know Steve? He seems to be a great guy. You're right about having interesting stuff. I'm trying to convince a friend of mine to buy the 1969 Maurauder with that he has, also with three-on-the-tree.
