82 Olds 98 Brougham original owner

I looked at this to buy myself and keep or flip but don't need it and don't think there is enough in it to justify a flip. Very nice older couple selling it and they really want to see it go to someone who will love it.

Chenango Bridge, New York. (Binghamton area)
Nice original owner 1982 Oldsmobile 98.
158,000 Light Jasmine Metallic paint, top and interior.
307 Y, A/C, Tilt and Telescope, power windows and seat.

Not driven in winter, stored under cover.
Engine runs smooth. Does not leak or use oil.
Transmission shifts smooth.
Brakes work well.
Steering a hair vague feeling.
Tires have good tread with a bit of dry.
Body straight and rust free other than quarter side on rear door.
Paint decent. A bit faded but looks good.
No evidence of major repairs seen.
Trunk does not stay open.
Right rear window inoperative.
Frame and under body nice. Surface rust on floor boards and fuel tank.
Interior clean and tear free. Headliner has some loose areas, top of door trim faded.
Vinyl top very nice and original.
A/C cold and R134.

$2,500 USD

They're not going to get far with that craigslist ad. No description at all (what does "owner" mean?), and all the photos are dated 2014. The car may still look the same 3 years later, but they ought to address that in their ad or take new photos.

They may want the car to go to a good home, but they're not doing anything to help themselves achieve that goal.

Yeah poor ad for sure. That's why I gave the description he should have.
Wrong date on camera.
The gentleman was 90 so it's quite an achievement that he posted it at all.
They are a bit heart broken to have to see it go but just aren't able to keep it up.

Actually I normally watch for poor ads. Old timer car, poor description, land line, etc. can equal the cream puff.

If they want it to go to a good home, do they not have a son, daughter, grandson, son-in-law, nephew or some relative who would take it off their hands, especially if was simply given to them? If I had an elderly relative who needed to get rid of a long-owned, well-cared-for old car, I'd be interested.

That is a pretty car. Too bad the description is so lame. At least they aren't asking an arm and a leg.

He does have that going for him. His asking price is very reasonable.

It is. I sold mine for quite a bit more than that earlier this year.

That color is called light jadestone green with a matching interior. This combo was only offered in 81 and 82 as I recall and is quite rare to find today. Looks to be a great deal at this price. I have the same year and color combo, however, my car is a diesel.
