WIW 1970 oldsmobile cutlass 455 SX

I picked this car up about 4 years ago. Original 455, turbo 400 2 bbl, 12 bolt, bench seat with fold down arm rest.

Car is complete and i believe mostly original. I bought it from the original owner.

Has some rust. Leaf catcher area on front fenders, rear 1/4s and some on the pass side floor.

Car had sat for 10 years before I bought it. I have not tried to get it running.

It is in need of a complete new interior, rubber seals, and a lot of tlc.

A guy I know wants to buy it from me.

What do you think it is worth?

I know it is just a ball park guess as I haven't included many pictures.

Opinions welcome
Thanks

That car from the looks of it, needs to be completely redone. I think it will sell for $3500. Not much more. good luck and remember, that is my opinion. No disrespect intended. What are YOUR thought?

I think 3500 if your lucky finding the "perfect buyer". Although the SX is rare (and I love em!) there doesn't seem to be that much of a market for them just yet. I occasionally. There was one on CL a while back that looked in a little better condition then yours for 3800. Not sure if it actually sold though: http://www.oldsmobilecentral.com/201...herford-tx.php

Yes it sold and it was on this site for sale. I also believe $3500 is too much.

what options does it have? disc brakes, power windows, locks, trunk, AM/FM, tilt column.... if it has lots of good options it will help.

The Old Cars Price Guide lists the value of a non-running but restorable (#5 condition) 1970 Cutlass Supreme SX at right around $3,000.

No options . . . pretty basic big block cutlass.

Here is a picture of its options . . . See the little SX emblem on the fender? Whatever the SX option included . . . it's there. Big block, 12 bolt, W Z manifolds for duel exhaust. Anything else?

Look that over, should give you a better idea of what you have. Gives detailed info on options and factory original equipment on 70 and 71 SX. Personally i love the SXs, to the untrained eye a 442 or Buick GS would just look like a Chevelle, but an SX is distinctly different with their roofline, plus its just cool to be different

According to this, and from you saying its a 2-bbl, you should have te L-33, 320hp/500tq (as rated at least). 10.25 compression. Im sure someone could give you more detailed info on the L-33 if you wanted it. I think its hilarious how GM expects us to believe that a drop from 10.25 compression to 8.5 compression equates to a loss of only 40 torque and no horsepower loss at all (all gross ratings). I feel like there was some half-truths going on haha

It's not online. You can find it at larger newsstands, or get it by subscription. It comes out four times a year. It's from the same people who publish Old Cars Weekly.

Collector Car Market Review IS an online price guide with values that usually parallel the OCPG pretty closely.
