Ultra rare sunroof option on 79 Cutlass
Not mine, but the title says it all. I didn't know a 383 stroker was available in 79 as an engine option. Truthfully, I think it's tastefully done:

I agree, odd that the owner is trying to claim how the H/O is better with a stroker replacement motor rather than the stock 350. On one hand he is exclaiming how rare the '79 H/O is with a factory sunroof, which it is, but than degrades it with a stroker engine. Too bad the engine swap wasn't done to a standard Cutlass or one of the more common T-top H/O's, and not a sunroof equipped H/O.

I personally have a problem with a "seller" who doesn't know an A-Body from a G-Body... The only leeway I would give a "seller" is when it comes to an 81 (A-Body) versus 82 (G-Body)...

Good Gawd what a bunch of horrid things to do to a 79 H/O. Sure hope that frame was reinforced, it'll twist like a pretzel with all that torque. Very sad. And that interior? To puke for. It'll take a lot of doing to bring this one back.

Ahh, was that 260 5 speed 79 Cutlass you owned the rare 260 5 speed diesel or a gas 260? If it was a diesel, tell me where it went because I want a 5 speed diesel Cutlass. As for the power moonroof Cutlass question, it was a factory option and by looking at the switch and the sunshade, it's factory on this car. I have an 80 with the factory moonroof. Yes, it was seldom ordered on a Cutlass.

260 gas. I parted the car out as it was rusty and not worth saving.
I also owned a 1978 305 2 bbl 4 speed 442. 1 of 50 made.

I bought a 79 Cutlass Supreme Brougham back in the day I think it was about 3 years old at the time. I was still in the Navy and needed something that was comfortable to drive and got decent mileage. I was making lots of trips home to Oregon and was stationed in Bremerton Washington. It was a factory sunroof car with leather interior and pretty much every option. It was not an H/O it was in fact only a 260 car. But, for the road it was great and got good mileage and wow was it comfortable. I owned a few T top cars later on and the sunroof option is so much nicer. You can just slide the cover shut and not get baked if you want and open it to enjoy the nice weather when you want.
Was a very nice car.
Too bad he put that engine in such a nice car.
