I do not know that a $25K "asking" price is out of line for a car of this vintage in the stated condition. Remember the asking price is where the negotiations start.

 

That is what I figured, but I honestly don't know anything about the average selling price for a car of that era.

If I had that kind of money to burn, I'd consider it.

 

According to the price guides, a '51 Super 88 2-door in #3 condition (not quite showroom condition) has a value of about $10,000.

 

Hard to tell by the picture but $25,000 seams a little high to me I would think around $12,000- $15,000 depending what the inside looked like and how much chrome needed work. You would really need to see it in person to get any kind of evaluation.....Tedd

 

I just bought this '51 98 (see my avatar at left) for a bit over $11k. The two cars seem comparable, with low miles on rebuilt engines and very nice driver-level cosmetics. I think I got a bargain after looking for 4 years... but $25k is a lot.
