Wow, I'm surprised how many ebay sales of cars don't go thru. I see the cars sold and then see them again with a mention of a dead beat bidder or similar. I have bought lots of things on ebay and have always considered it if I am the "winner" then I own it. I've bought 2 cars- 1 was great and the other not so much, But I never considered backing out.

A friend of mine decided to sell one of his 40's Lincolns on ebay. The "winner" of the auction showed up with a trailer to pick the car up just after noon on a Saturday with a "Bank Check" that was counterfeit in the end. He didn't let them take the car and later showed me the phoney check that had watermarks and looked right as rain. Even his banker was impressed with the quality of the phoney check. If you aren't at least careful you can get robbed as a seller.

Don't take any checks from any body! I have two that were phony. Lucky for me I verified funds prior to releasing the car. Ebay is the worst for this type of activity.

We have been on eBay for more than 13 years as a business selling our wears as well as cars all over the globe.

There are many scams and disingenuous bidders. Sellers beware.

The support from eBay regarding many of these issues is very disappointing IMO.
