C/L Rallye 350 (Not Mine)

I came across this today, it appears complete. Thought that maybe somebody could be searching for one. Remember: "some rust" is relative, in Texas a dime size hole is some rust.

I contacted the fellow and it sounds a little too rough for me and not equipped how I want one. It probably isn't a bad car to start with, just not what I'm looking for.

What kind of info did you find out about the car? A real rallye350 even with 'some rust' is a great find if it's intact. This car was Olds's response to crushing insurability. Very limited production of them too. So even if its not equipped the way some like it, it could be a heck of a find.

Not sure if its a scam, at least its the same Kansas area code number in all the post. Does anyone know if it actually runs?

I talked to the guy who said that he owned it. The car didn't sound like a "basket case", just not what I'm looking for. I seem to remember him telling me it needed floors but the hood and breather, and rear wing were intact and the car ran and drove. I really want a stripped, plain-jane, post stick with no options that is original, un-restored and in excellent condition. Now you know why I haven't bought one yet. Believe it or not, I have found two cars that fit this description---one was kinda sold out from under me while I was arranging for airline tickets to see it and the other is not really for sale. I'll keep searching. Until next time.....Dave.

hi, the ad was no scam. I bought the car on Friday and brought it back to NE. Car is all original but has its share of rust in the floor and rear. I got the original motor and tranny with it, though not in the car at the present time. Car is a driver right now but I just pulled it into my garage to start tearing it apart. Don't really care to drive it the way it is now. I think the rusty floor scared a lot of people away, I've done them before, just a matter of doing them. I will update my post as I work on it. Are you going to keep it or peddle it when done?

Plan to keep it as of now. Hard to say though. Nice to have something that's got some rarity to it. I've always liked these cars. Passed on a couple a few yrs ago and when I saw this one close by I really wanted to get it. Had to sell a couple old trucks for some cash and make room. Sold them on Wed. and on Fri. went and got the Rallye. Where there's a will there's a way. Really looking forward to getting started on it.

Great news.... I am glad to hear it was not a scam.

Enjoy your new car, and good luck on the restoration.

Look forward to seeing the pictures as the project develops.
