If it was mine I would be taking the 70k and laugh all the way to the bank. It's nice but not that nice. I think he had someone put that bid in for him. my.02

I'm sure he's not taking the 70k bid because it's his own 'bid'. Beautiful car that I would love to have but not when the asking price is almost 10x the value.

He was politely advised by a person in a position of eminence for H/Os that his price is way high. I guess he ignored the advice.

That would be a hella nice car for someone if it's ever priced more appropriately.

The black/gold with black gut totally owns the typical white/gold ones with the saddle gut.

A rare find with rare lamp monitors & the even rarer cornering lamps.

You would think for that insane money there would be more pix.

We're just being picky.

Everyone knows what a 7K mile car is supposed to be.

If you don't it's your own fault & you're just out to "kick some tires".

My 2 cents

If I recall, someone paid 270,000 for Craig Jacksons 79 h/o for a charity bid. Formally Linda Vaughn's car. This seller is most likely basing his price on this sale. Also self bidding his auction creating the belief of a greater market value.

A charity auction is just being able to donate money, take a tax deduction, and have trophy as proof for doing it.

You gotta be kidding me - 70k?

For starters, I recognize that we all have very different tastes. For me, I love the 64-72 Olds 442's. I currently own a 70-442 vert. Owned a 72-442 and 75 Cutlass in High School. Also liked the mid 80's 442's. But I never liked the 79's, at all. Thats just me. I would be shocked that anyone would pay that kind of money for that style car (unless they were simply donating big dollars to a great cause).

I also don't like them very much, but I love the 80s ones, same with most of the 2 door G-Bodies actually look very nice when done up right, but it seems the 79s combine the worst aspects of the earlier and G-body cutlasses. The same year Monte Carlos were nice though.

I can see asking 119K, but 120, C'mon, IMHO that's really stretching it.
