68 Ram Rod
I'd have to look at the "700" pad to get the exact number. Cool stuff I think.
x2 on the 700 number blocks for the teams and dealerships. When I got my '69 it, too had a. "700" replacement as the car was retailed with the Duffy's race engine (built the original engine). The car was sold with a "limited warranty" and let's just say street use isn't kind to race engines. I kept that engine on a stand and built another '69 engine for my racing.

your car sounds nasty Dave, what are you running for ET's ?

Hard to say as I've had clutch issues. I'm in theifst of some major drive line changes. Out will be the ' 69 vintage blowproof and Muncie/Hurdt shifter. With that combo. I had a Centrrforce DFX clutch and it never was up to my expectations. I had their tech line on speed dial and even they were mystified. Turns out it was toast after less than 15 passes---I don't think it was ever fully engaged or disengaged! The car would leave hard and die and wouldn't shift, wouldn't ET and wouldn't MPH.
So.....,in are going a QuickTime blowproof, a McLeod SoftLok clutch with aluminum flywheel and adjustable pressure plate, and a Jerico R4 with Long shifter. I'm also updating the entire fuel delivery system. We are shooting for some "easy" 12.00. The car doesn't have a roll bar and I don't intend to install one (mandatory at 11.49)

But did tell him if and when he sells want first crack hopefully in a distant future I will be better suited for it.
I wasn't sure how to respond. It's like finding out your friend is getting divorced. Should you say congrats, I'm sorry or both ? Think of it as leaving an older Pamela Anderson (the RamRod) for a future Kate Upton (next purchase).
I'm sure you did what was right, all things considered. You had the opportunity to own & drive an awesome W machine that many of us never had. I'm sure another bad *** Olds will be in your garage by Spring.

lol love the analogy of Anderson and Upton
true I do honestly feel lucky to have driven one
So Stefano, what are the plans..........full tilt-body off? Sure sounds like a candidate for a restoration and possible give-away at MCACN!?! Or maybe a nostalgia race car?
Inquiring minds want to know.

definite at mcacn show
that would be neat race car
Yea, what Joe said. PLEASE do tell us all about your '69. And Stefano, what are your plans for the '68. I wish I'd have known about that '68 earlier, I could've been a player on that one. I can see that car done; Black and Red is one good-looking combination. I know this sounds weird and may surprise some of you, but I actually like '68s better than '69s, and I own a '69!
