as well as nos Hurst shifter

Dean,
Should probably mention that you have paperwork for it. That's what makes it worth the money.
I've seen the car a couple times. It's a nice project, not full of rust
Good luck with the sale but I'd hate to see you sell it

I cant see much on the small card and I dont see Ram rod or w-31 on the big sheet . could you take a close up of it ? What is Gt stripe ? Very cool car . You didnt mention if it is running . Did 68's come with the large balancer ?

So the gt stripe is that the body stripe a inch or so below the trim or is it the
one that goes from upper to lower fender stripe some 442 have in front of the door ? Disk or drums up front ? Did the ram rods come with large valves along with a hotter cam the first year?

Pretty sure all 1968 Ran Rod cars are 4 wheel drums. Someone chime in & correct me if I am wrong.

ask away no worries
special car, made partly due to the disappointing G block. And to dominate E/F class in NHRA in which they did.
Produced from late Jan early Feb to May
First 50 to track ; 450 or so sold to public, so many left ???
if you the 10% rule 45-50 which I think is high

Is this the car that John Ebbs and Mike Gill owned about ten years ago? Came to N. Ohio and then NH via Richmond, VA? If so, I've seen it and it is a really solid car. It wasn't for sale at the time when I bought a '68 post from Mike. There can't be that many black/red replacement block Ram Rods out there.
If it's the same car, I have a bunch of older pics of it from when it was for sale at one point.

Pics from May 2004. I think it was in Richmond, VA at this point, on Ebay. Looks just like it did when I saw it at Mike's. Those wheels and tires ended up on a Jade Gold '68 post 3 speed stick car that I bought from him a little later.

I'm digging for any other pics that I may have stashed on other external hard drives.
Dean, I do know Mike but have not seen him in a few years. I bought three cars from him between 2000 and 2006 or so, and he also owned my blue 442 a few months before I bought it in 2000. I can pm you his last known email address if you don't have one for him.

couldn't haven't said it better , that's why I never touched it like they say only original once.
Yet it also stands as a candidate to be done but if I keep it will stay original !!!!!!!!!

yes replacement but from factory, the motor you speak that John got from Dave went in the red ram rod which John sold.

no actually in low 700 numbers I believe will check again . which makes sense the alleged number of 700 ram rods was the replacement blocks made for the teams and dealerships

Very cool car and thanks for the info.
So the official 742 number is just an engine count? I thought the production records for 1968 W-machines existed?

and Hurst Olds
But something got misconstrued far as the alleged Ram Rod numbers and actual production, this comes from Dave H. who is considered the most knowledgeable re : these cars. My replacement block (which I will double check) if I recall correctly has a number in the low 700's

ty Stefano, correct they do, there is an accurate number of 68 w-30's
