63 Cutlass Project
63 Cutlass Project
This project became too much for me when I had surgery last year, and now at age 60 I hope to find someone who wants the car and wants to finish what I got started. It is a 4bbl Oldsmobile All-aluminum V-8 which for its time was pretty hot, one of the first GM cars to nearly match its 215 cubic inches with 185 HP! This engine was so low mileage when I bought it from the proverbial granny, it did not require boring, over or undersized bearings. None of the internals were reused and this engine starts and runs without a fuss. There is a clunking in the timing cover area which means it needs some tear down and troubleshooting, but the engine runs now. The hydramatic transmission was professionally reworked, but has never been completely installed with the lines. The car does not drive. I had a new driveline built, it has a new exhaust system from the manifold to the rear bumper. The brakes are new, 0 miles, drums turned, all lines and hoses replaced, master and wheel cylinders replaced, and silicone brake fluid used. It needs a windshield, and new upholstery. The tires (Firestone Indys) have less than 20 miles on them are 2 years old and kept inside...no weathering. The rubber gaskets have all been replaced, a new radiator and all hoses and fittings. The body needs some attention. I replaced the rusty metal with new metal, but my inexperience shows. It is complete, just needs someone with time. The chrome and stainless is all there. Bumpers and other pot metal parts should be re-chromed or replaced with better. I'm asking $3500 but I'm willing to barter! IT MUST BE TRAILERED!!
