The old car would make a great restomod and it looks pretty solid. At $6000 he is way high on price. I always love the ran when parked years ago. I think it is about a $2,500 car but that is just my opinion.

That is a very cool car in several ways. First post-war production year. The Special Series 66 was the lowest-end Olds offered, and this body style, the Club Sedan, was second from the bottom in the 66 line with a base price of $1,134. Only the Club Coupe was less expensive at $1,108 (equivalent to about $15,000 today---very low for a brand-new car today). The only engine available was the 238 cubic-inch L-head straight six putting out 100 hp.

Olds used the word "sedan" back then, even though the car was a 2-door.

Note the slight difference in body style for the Club Coupe. Smaller rear-seat windows, abbreviated roofline. The Club Sedan had more of a fastback styling with the roofline in one continuous sweep all the way to the rear bumper.

I'm guessing that the exterior sunvisor is a period-correct dealer-installed or aftermarket accessory as it's not shown on the '46 options list.

Yes! Frenching the headlight, move in the bumpers, no need to crop the top. It was born that way. Nice dash, rear fastback. Or even a rat rod.

Rat rods are excuses for either laziness or poverty. Either do it right with a body chop or make it nice:

Is this another year model? Or option - custom with the rear wheel cover and trim?

To the OP's comment about the longest hood award, I wonder if the 78 or the 98 had a longer hood in those years or just more options?

Longer if the side trim is any indication.
