1991 Oldsmobile Toronado Trofeo 44,000 miles

I am listing this car for my father. He bought it from the first owner, a widow, whose husband bought it right after he retired. He always used it as his special car until he passed away. Dad bought it from his widow in 2005 when it had 36,000 miles on it. It now has 44,000 miles on it.
When dad bought it, the first thing he did was put a set of the correct Good Year Eagle GA tires on it. They have about 8000 miles on them and are discontinued. Not very many Toronado's with the correct tires are left.
Dad drove the car pretty sparingly, but pretty regular to keep it runnng properly. He drove it to the Oldsmobile club national meet where it scored best in its class and received the senior award.
It has the rare options of the mobile phone and the Visual Information screen, and CD player. All work well except the phone, which is analog. There is no service available for analog phones anymore in our digital age. The phone was never activated.
It has never been smoked in or hogged out with food, kids, or animals. A dad and mom went places in it. That's about it.
Not much has had to be done to it since it is such a low mileage car.
It has gobbs of paperwork originating back to the original owner, including the window sticker and build sheet.
I recently repaired the dash cluster, changed the oil, flushed and filled the radiator, rotated the tires, replaced the wiper blades with the correct ones, and gave it a really good fresh detail. It is more than ready to drive to any show anywhere and perform well.
If you would like to call, his name is Jerry. His number is 812 459-1438

Very nice! What was the problem with the dash and where did you send it? I have a dash that needs fixed in my parents Trofeo. It has the same miles on it. I can't remember exactly but between 40K and 45K miles.

Beautiful condition and nice color combination. Hard to find a 27 year old car in this condition.

Holy cow, a $29K car in 1991. That was serious $$ back then.

I had a black on tan one back in 91 - it was such a great car. I still remember picking it up from the dealer. I bought it on my 25th birthday

Yes, it was. Equivalent to over $50,000 today.

Yes, the phone is cool, but as the OP points out, it doesn't work because it's outdated. So it's a museum piece.

The 812 area code is southern Indiana. It's a mobile number, though, so it could be anywhere.

Question for you, are both the drivers and the passengers seats 6 way power? Also, how is the condition of the paint, is it nice & bright/unfaded (tough to tell from the photos), I know GM had issues with their paint not adhering to the primer in the early 90's causing fading and or peeling. I had a 1991 Calais I bought new that suffered this ailment. Thanks.

CRUZN 66: Thank you for the positive comments about my father. We can say the same about you. Nice big block in your G body.

BlueCalais79: All Trofeo's had power seat on both sides. The power seats work in all directions along with the CD player I might add. The paint is up and has a very high gloss. As mentioned before, it is a senior award winner. Very few Oldsmobile Club of America Senior Award winners have faded paint that is peeling. As far as I can tell the paint is still adhered to the metal very well. If you really want to pick at the car and throw the paint under a microscope and project it up on a wide screen at movie theatre, one could find a little acid rain on only the top that cannot be seen outside. I took pictures in the shade as not to try and blind anyone with the glare of the sun. It does glow in the sun. Nothing in this world is perfect, and neither is this car. It is a great car, however that is a pleasure to drive and creates positive comments everywhere it goes. I hate to see it go, but you just can't keep 'em all. He needs to thin the herd a little.

It's on FeeBay this week until Monday April 16th. Thank you everyone for your questions and positive comments about the car and of course, my dad.
