In 1988 Ronald Reagan was president, Don’t Worry Be Happy was the #1 song and this Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme International series was built.
The W-body cars were supposed to be the savior of General Motors and this Oldsmobile Cutlass represented the ‘new’ way of thinking at GM.
I bought this car two years ago and it had a bad engine knock in a blown head gasket. I bought a remanufactured engine, had it rebuilt and installed along with replacing all the little pieces that should go with a new engine. Parts like radiator hoses, heater hoses, spark plugs and wires. I wanted the air conditioning working so in goes a new A/C compressor, condenser and custom hoses too. New tires and a buff and detail got me a nice looking and nice driving daily driver. No, the car isn’t perfect and it has some flaws like the headliner starting to droop, there are plenty of door dings, the radio crackles, the paint is faded on body panel edges, and the paint is peeling on the hood. But as a survivor it’s in beautiful condition and is nice enough to show but worn enough to drive routinely and leave in the rain too.
I'm not a buyer, but judging by the interior this car hasn't been abused, rims look real nice for their age, trunk is clean. 80s paint basically sucked out of the factory, just a matter of time for issues like your hood. At least you didn't have a Corsica or Beretta where after 3 years you don't want to go through the car wash & leave your paint in sheets on the floor when you exit. The light colors didn't seem to have issues like the dark colors did.
Good luck with the sale. I think it's reasonably priced for what you have in it.
