Oldsmobiles seen at the Springfield (Ohio) Swap Meet - 5/28/11

I went to this today. Here's some photos of Oldsmobiles both entered into the car show and for sale in the car corral. In order of model year.

Starting off is a very original-looking '48. Not sure of the model. The bumpers look like they've been redone.

Next is a '57 Fiesta wagon looking very nice.

Next is the first of two '59s. The signage was a bit weird. The scripts on each side clearly say "Super 88." However, the owner wrote "Dynamic 88" on the info sheet in the window. Whatever it is, $6,000 or best offer.

The other '59 was this yellow one on the show field. Not sure which model it is. Missing scripts?

'64 F-85 in the car corral had a 455. Needs body work. $3,500 or trade.

'68 Cutlass Supreme has a rebuilt 455. $13,500 obo

'71 Cutlass S post coupe was gorgeous.

'72 Cutlass in the car corral had no price in the window. I have to admit, I'm not a fan of the spoiler.

The first of two '76 Cutlasses was this very nice blue one. Asking $6,300. The only thing left is to learn how to spell the name of the car you're trying to sell.

The other was this gray one. Asking only $2,200 for this one.

'79 Supreme has a 455 and a custom paint job. Asking $5,500.

'85 Cutlass S. Asking $5,200, but don't be afraid to make an offer. I complained earlier about the misspelling of the word "Cutlass" on that blue '76 above. It had nothing on the misspelling on this one. It's the worst I've ever seen. "Cutlus?" C'mon, people! Let's get with it!

This is the only shot I have of this nice '86 Custom Cruiser. I would have taken a photo from the front, but the owner was sitting in the driver's seat just looking out, and it seemed kind of weird to have him in there while taking the photo. So I didn't.

'87 442 was beautiful. $10,000 obo

Last but certainly not least was this '91 Eighty-Eight. Looked like it would make a nice daily driver. $6,950

By the way, how long does it take to put all that writing in the front window and get it to look so neat?

Thanks for the pics jaunty. X4 on the wing. At least its just a decklid though. My faves would be the '71 post Cutlass S and the '57 wagon. As for the one with the spare 1/4 panels, I think they've been replaced before as well. I don't know but maybe it was just the angle?? Anyway great pictures I enjoyed them all.

Awww.....that '91 looks just like a pretty version of the one we finally sent to "Cars 4 Causes", just recently. Loved that boring, white car....so much that we now have a '99 version. I am always tempted to paint a big green stripe down it so we can tell it from the other cars in the parking lot....still, they are the best drivers..

I love the '59s.

There was no information other than what was written on the info sheet. There was no one around to ask, and the hood was open only about half-way, so it was difficult to get your head under there.

Great pictures.

I really like the ones of the '71 post coupe. That would be close to what my '72 Cutlass S post coupe would have looked when it was new. Nice to finally have an idea what it looked like. It was nordic blue with blue cloth bench interior. Did that car have the cloth interior?

By the time I bought the Cutlass, it was red with a black vinyl interior.

LOVE the 71 post, 68 Supreme and the Fiesta. There looks to be a yellow Custom Cruiser next to the Fiesta. Too bad you didn't get any shots of it to post

Yes, I also enjoy the variety of spellings for Kutlass, Cuteless, Cutless, Cutlus, etc. When the name's on the car, if you can't copy it right, you don't deserve to own it.

Kathleen - Your pro-drag hillbilly sleeper is totally insane. I WANNTT it!!

I didn't post any photos of it because it was MY car, and I thought it might be a bit self-serving to include it with all the others. I drove it to the show.

But if you insist!

There was a nice '66 Buick Sport Wagon sitting next to it on the other side. I got a photo of that as well.

Yes Jaunty, I knew it was yours.

I remember reading the thread about when you bought it, got it shipped, the paint, reassembly etc. It turned out really really nice. Don't ever be bashful about including it in the pics. I don't remember seeing pics of it all fixed up. At the time you were working out of a 'too small' garage that the CC barely fit into. You had trouble with the tailgate key switch if I remember....but got that solved too. I love that car. Looking at it brings back memories of my 73 CC. Only difference was mine was gold and had wood panel sides. I remember it was a pig on gas (man I wish I could complain about paying 48 cents/gallon for gas again ) but rode like a dream (all 6000+ lbs of it) . Used it many a time for camping and hauling cargo. You have the build sheet for it too.

The Buick Sportwagon is awesome too. Only the VC and Buick Sportwagon had that Vista roof line. In a way I wish it had been built into the CC too.

Thanks for sharing your photos.

The blue '59 has a big block Chevy in it. It appears to be an early 90's 454 pickup engine judging from the valve covers and EGR valve. Interestingly, it seems to have the TBI fuel injection still on it too.
