Here's to wishing Linda a speedy, full recovery from her heart surgery last week. All the best to you from this humble Hurst Olds owner. Sure did miss the chance to meet her at the Hurst Nationals last week. Hopeful for next year for sure!

I was surprised at the crummy quality of the photos themselves, in my view. You're correct on that power window observation, most of the 79 H/O's were high option cars and had power windows/power door locks, but some escaped the assembly line without them; a minority though I'd bet. My H/O has them.

I fully understand the provenance that goes with this car, and that makes it totally unique. I'm just a bit amazed at the price.
No power window likely means no power door locks too. I noticed the fuel gauge is misbehaving also. I had 2 of these G bodies with that rallye pac and have never seen the gauge peg like that. possibly a grounding issue or bad fuel sender.

Allan I noticed that too. There's a 29 minute video by Classic G-Body Garage on what to do about this. I watched it (4 times) and totally fixed my pod in my blue 79 Calais, lights, gauges, everything is now in perfect working order. Did the same on my Hurst, same results, perfect score.

Wishing Linda the best in her recovery...
I am not a big fan of celebrity vehicles, and especially the price tags associated with them... But I am sure someone would love to own it...
And just an FYI, which I am sure most everyone knows, Linda's 79 Hurst is actually an "A-Body"... G-Body designation did not come into play until 1982...

Allan, what happens is the connectors/contacts in the bulb sockets inside and out need to have tension put back on them. Once the gauges are pulled out the connectors/contacts need to have tension put back on them as well, and that goes for the master plug in that goes to the wire harness. Then there is the gauge issue. Usually the gauges are ok but not so with my NOS tachometer which was shorted out (it ran 5500 when idling) and it had to be replaced.
As I was once told by an Olds dealer, this stuff was made to sell, not to last.
Anyway, check out that 29 minute video on You Tube, it was instrumental in me getting my gauge pod working perfectly.
