Man, when I first saw the title of this thread I though she had passed . Had to look that up and no way! That's a great video. Thinking retrospectively it's amazing how much sex appeal was used to sell performance back when things like this were not as favorable in the sensors eyes.

LOL! YUP, big twin grills never hurt an Olds. IIRC the twin grills started in 69. Too late for when Hurst started partnering with Olds for silver/black HO's in 68? Maybe she did have some influence...

I had to watch this a second time so I could try and focus on the cars. It's really cool seeing some of those old Hurst customs, like the 68 H/O convertible and the 69 too. And the Buick and the Chrysler and the Nova, etc.

In speaking with Linda last year at the 2010 MCACN show in Chicago I asked her about Nikki and she said their nick name for Nikki was 'brains' and she ended up being a teacher/professor at a university out east...

Very nice,.....Thanks for sharing!!! I've met her at a couple of the nationals over the years,... very nice and courteous to her fans, even when tired and clearly exhausted.

 

You are 100% right. All kidding aside, she is about the nicest and classiest woman you'll ever meet. She puts her heart in all she does. With all she has done for the automobile hobby *and* the fans over the years, she has gone far and above the call of duty. And through all of this has remarkably not become the least bit jaded. She is a true icon, and is deserving of the utmost respect and admiration.

 

I met Linda at the Hot Rod Reunion. She was in a hospitality room waiting to speak at the banquet. As soon as the coast was clear I walked in and ask her to autograph a Hurst T shirt. She was kind enough to sign the shirt and took the time to have a conversation with me. I remember her telling me that she was going to announce that June Cochran had died.

Ah. You lucky devil you. I've talked to her a few times. She is a one of a kind lady. Noone could ever fill her shoes.

 

I don't know how to post a pic here but at the Greensboro, NC auto show 2 years ago she came over and had her pic taken with my Olds---I have a copy of it. We looked like a couple of happy old farts!!!!!
