1977 Cutlass w/ t-tops & Posi (not mine)

1977 Olds Cutlass -
Only just over 66,000 original miles.
Been garaged for years.
350 Rocket with mild cam and Holley 650 dual pumper.
Posi reared.
Duel exhaust, buckets, newer interior.
T tops etc. see pictures.
Asking $5,500 OBO.

Why did GM go from the 1972 A-Body 2-door style to this? This style of vehicle never took off aesthetically in the classic car scene. Almost zero after market support for these style of vehicles. Not until the G-Body did it start to gain after market support again.

I'm not sure why, but I guess car manufacturers need to continually introduce new designs/styles. This body style was extremely popular, & the #1 or #2 best selling car during the time period of 1975-1977. In 1977 Oldsmobile sold over 632,000 of the Cutlass model!

I agree it was popular when they came out, but they went into the junkyards of history once the G-Body came out. Nobody collected or wanted to restore that 1973-1977 body style. The 1965-1972 GM A-Body muscle cars are the biggest collector cars to date. Then GM went back to the A-Body derived style for the G-Body from 1982 to 1988. The G-Body has quite a bit of aftermarket support and collectability. I think the G-Body will make a bigger come back, especially the restomod with a modern drivetrain as they are full frame, rear wheel drive, which makes for a good platform.

I sold my 1987 Olds 442 about 5 years ago & the retail has sure increased since that time. Beautiful car & completely stock with no rust anywhere.

Beautiful car! What did you sell it for back then?

How many miles did it have?

Rare blue exterior color.

I sold it for $9,400 & it had 74k on the odo. I bought it sight unseen after I placed an ad explaining what I was looking for.
