Smile 1974 Cutlass Supreme, buckets, black interior

1974 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 2-door coupe

White Colonnade top, deep green paint color. Black vinyl interior with center console and shifter. Rally steering wheel. Low miles, approximately 106,000. I am the third known owner. Originally this was a Las Vegas car. It has absolutely zero rust. This car is mechanically sound. A new master cylinder was installed in the last year. A brand new battery was just installed. The transmission has been recently serviced with new gasket, fluid and filter.

The bad:
• This car needs to be repainted. With the black interior, it will look good in any color. I have never had the paint job worked on with rubbing compound, as my intent was always to repaint the car silver. Rubbing compound would get rid of the oxidation, and the car would look way better. Unfortunately, it does not look too photogenic in the pictures.
• AM/FM radio works and at times then stops working
• Horn works, but reproduction center button on steering wheel does not work (Original arrow steering wheel is included)
• Rear bumper has quarter sized ding on the driver side shown in the picture
• Front seats need to be reupholstered and have new plastic bushings installed at the same time. The passenger seat has one seam that is split. The driver’s seat was recovered at some point with a cover from a Malibu, which lacks the Oldsmobile “Sunburst” stitching. I wanted to wait until OEM style covers were available, before recovering the seats. This is the last item in the interior that needs to be addressed.
• The rear bench seat is in pretty good condition, but the bottom cushion does have one split seam. This will be able to be re-stitched by a competent upholsterer
• The front bumper fillers in need to be installed. I have replacements as well as the correct push in plastic rivets. (This should be done when the car is painted.)
• The black Hurst SS hood fits poorly. The original green hood is included, and in much better shape. I may have this reinstalled if I can get help from my brother. It is just an awkward job.
• The original hood release cable broke, so it was modified. The cable is looped behind the front bumper to open hood with ease. It works great. This will be your little secret. I did not want to retrofit the car using a “universal” cable which would have looked different inside the car.
• The remote control for “Sport” mirror on driver’s side has bezel which pops up. Original square mirror included.
• There are no external bezels for the side opera windows as shown in the pics. The originals were mirrored plastic and wasted away. Stainless steel replacements come up from time to time on eBay. If you decide to remove the white vinyl top, this may be the way to go.
• The interior analog clock periodically works. It needs to have the contacts cleaned.
• Floor mats are original, and worn out, however the car has a new carpet kit which was installed

The good:
• Car is fast and fun with the 350 C.I. Rocket V8 and automatic transmission with center console
• This car came from an old man in Vegas who worked at McLaren Airport. There is next to no rust on the car. You can see how clean the interior seams of the trunk are. The leading edges of the doors, bottoms of rear quarters, etc. are perfect. Body wise this car is 99% solid.
• Way less expensive than a collectible 68-72 Cutlass, GTO, Nova, Chevelle. Therefore you will not be afraid to actually drive and use this car.
• With black interior, you can paint the car any color you wish. This was my intention, I just ran out of steam/time/money with this project.
• All of the small trim pieces have been replaced with reproductions, i.e. door locks, door straps, etc.
• The car has dual “Sport” mirrors.
• I have a beautiful set of Stock SSI Hurst 15 X 7 Oldsmobile “Sport” rims are available for an additional $1,000.00. Rims are 100% condition with new PPG Metallic powder coat in silver/grey. New repro center caps. New repro outer trim rings. New repro bezels (5) per wheel.
• Car has new black carpet kit installed.
• Car has been stored inside my warehouse since I purchased it in 2007.
• Engine compartment is very clean
• Battery is new, master cylinder is new. There are no leaks from the transmission or engine.
• If additional specific pictures are wanted, please email a request and I will try and accommodate your request.
• I was told by one person that this car would make a sick “Donk”
• You can see from the pictures I kept the deteriorating trunk mat in place, as I figured the next person my want to use it when replacing it as a template.
• I would like to get $6,000.00 obo for the car.

I'm surprised at how little rust it has. For the year it appears to be in really nice shape. Hopefully someone who doesn't want to Donk it will buy it.

Sorry, it is in Chicagoland. (I don't think I would sell it knowingly to someone wanting to make a donk out of it.)

By the way, the cars great. It is a total cream puff to drive. It steers straight as an arrow with one finger. Stops straight with little drama. This car just brings a smile t your face when you drive it. I just need to find it a new home.
