Engine has been repainted (blue on the alternator bracket, for example), so is it even original?
No mention of the VIN.
Holley carb and what appears to be an aftermarket intake.
Enough red and blue corrugated wire loom for several Hondas.
Aftermarket disc brake M/C (it appears to have outlet ports on both sides).
Non-factory wing (not offered in 1972).
Missing wiper switch **** (for $55K!!!).

Seller better have all paperwork necessary to prove it is real. So many strikes against it already.
I am with Joe 55k and needs this and that? The fit all around on that car.
Nothing like a shift light to prove that the said car has been ran hard.
So many questions. I say good luck getting 25-35k.

I only speak for myself here, but I don't care if it's legit if the original engine is gone. Same loss of value.
It would be like marrying a fattie that crammed herself into a gown the local supermodel wore at a party last week. Sure, the dress is the same, but the girl inside it isn't.

Lots of (if not the majority of) high-end muscle cars have lost their born-with engine in the last 50-odd years. I've seen many magazine feature cars where the owners 'fess up to having supplied a "date-code correct" block when the original was lost to the sands of time. Sure, there should be a value adjustment, but it certainly doesn't make them illegitimate.

Because what do have on an original (supposedly)W car once the drivetrain is gone? The roots are gone. 55 grand for a non original drivetrain 72? Not me brother.

Yes, but why is a '72 W-30 with a non-original drivetrain any different than a '69 W-30 with a non-original drivetrain?
