A lot of the cars FSBO have been modified and are not original. Remember, asking price isn't always the selling price.

i think the kidd is saying the X in the VIN of the 1972 W 30s proves without a doubt the car is a W30 unlike previous years where stamps restamps and ebay procured broadcast cards make a cutlass or 442 into something it never was.
given this (and the obvious best styling cues of the 70-72 a bodys) you would think the 72 w30s would bring the most money you cant really fake them (well as easily as other years)
