1971 Cutlass Supreme $50k

*****************NOT MINE******************

I would think you'd get a correct rear bumper and wheels for $50,000....Price seems a little steep, no?

Well, if you read the ad, he does have disclaimers about what's been done and what will come with the car. Maybe it comes with a 'real gold rocket engine'.....Yeah, I don't need to pay his mortgage off. Thanks anyway.

I kind of like it in a 1970s kind of way but it proves the point it takes as much to restore a 5k car as it does one worth 100k. Just because it cost a boat load to get it how you like it doesn't mean its worth a dime to someone else.

I don't see how he came up with $50,000 for the price. Nothing special that I can see and it only has a 350 engine.

While not the colors I'd have gone with myself ...

That's not really my issue with it.

How about the Q-U-A-L-I-T-Y of it ?.

Am I the only one that thinks the paint looks all funky ?.

Mis-match - shadows - clouds ?.

I honestly don't feel there's a deep enough luster there to create much of any reflections ... that I could be mistaking for those issues.

The reflections in that car are very minimal.

I'd be questioning the quality of that paint at a $5K price tag for that car ... let alone $50K

For $5K one would expect thinning original paint that's seen better days ... or perhaps an older re-do & accept it without issue.

But for $50K & supposed new paint ... it's just isn't sitting right with me.

My apologies if that's just some really bad photography .....

But it sure looks like a questionable job to me.

Or I am just in the dark on some new "fad" of cloudy-shadowy silver paint finishes ...

Similar to the flat/satin black paints that seem to get a lot of attention these days ?.

Same thing I was thinking. And for 50K I better get some wheels that didn't come on a boat trailer.
