I'd budget for a full rebuild. Still not a bad deal if everything else checks out.

Looks to be a non-AC car with buckets and floor shift. I'd cautiously call it a decent deal if not rusty, crusty or twisted up underneath

Piston rings and heads need work so basically a full engine rebuild. Add another $5k to the price plus labor to R&R.
Not a bad price at $20k if everything else is okay on the drivetrain and body.

I saw this ad on eBay from a dealer in Wisconsin which appears to be the same car: https://www.ebay.com/itm/325247680329

Watch out or the folks who defend high prices will swoop in and attack you.

Now it's overpriced, but at least they give an honest description of it. I bet for $26.5 though, you could get one that doesn't need a complete engine rebuild.

Ha yes - the price police are indeed a vocal bunch hey, I'm not complaining...

That's about what I have in my 72 CS ragtop after 6 years and I fully rebuilt / upgraded the wheels/tires, all the mechanical systems, wiring and audio. -

so yeah, it's WAY overpriced now in my opinion too. But good business is where you find it and no law against trying to cap a good flip return.

I bought my car for $700 and after rebuilding / replacing everything except the steering gear box I figure I’m in for around $7-8 thousand, so it’s hard for me to imagine a similar car is worth over $25 thousand.

Do I need to increase my agreed upon insurance valuation?
