Not sure what the builder was attempting with this build but it's kind of a Frankenstein type of build with no real direction.

I would say at it's current bid right now at $5K is about what this turd is worth. This is another one of those shiny on the outside, cruddy POS on the inside cars that I just can't understand. I don't care how you like your cars, use it as a trash bin for all I care. Makes me wonder what maintenance was ever done on it. But if you go to sell it and think you're going to get serious coin for it, and you don't even put any effort into washing the engine off or fixing leaks, etc., then you deserve to get hammered on price when you go to sell it. It doesn't have to be dinner plate squeaky clean, but nasty, unkept engine bays like this one on an otherwise clean, shiny exterior (taste differences for the red stripe notwithstanding) is a total turn off. Lipstick on a pig.

I'd be concerned as to what is being covered up (besides mud, dirt and who-knows-what) by the black spray paint on the underside. No attempt at masking, etc, but something is obviously being disguised, probably rust-through. Note the fiberglass "repair" on the driver side inner fender panel. And red plastic painted black... Hmm...Oh yeah, call the Stripe Police!

I haven noticed this on a lot of the car flippers. They take a can of black rattle can spraypaint and go to town on the undercarriage. They don't even take the time to mask off and just spray bomb the entire undercarriage. It's mostly done to hide rust and other issues.

Someone went bonkers with the black spraypaint

I think the car is HIDEOUS. It kind of has a low rider vibe but it has a hodge-podge theme going. The colors, striping, interior, is so poorly put together and the theme is all over the place.

I get expression I do. We don't all have the same taste a lot of the times. To build a car with such strong colors interior etc good luck selling it for what it would bring in normal colors. That interior is just nasty. All that work and then some hack job spray paint job under the hood? Definitely makes you question what all went on during the rebuild.

Black grilles look so bad. What's up with the black glovebox door? The list goes on and on. The tooth looks bent also. Nice rats nest under the dash.

Looks at this horrible welding job on the rear quarter and rocker area. Also appears to be raw metal still showing. They didn't even bother to paint it.

Sad thing is if they would have just left it gold and not added all the Ronald McDonald additions it would be much more sellable.

Is it just me or do the floors look questionable?

yes, the floors look like they are rotted but covered up to hide the rot

The entire build is questionable.

The seller claims the undercarriage was "rustproofed", hence the reason for the black paint everywhere.

Seller states:

"It’s just like you mentioned, not perfect, but wow what a car. I can’t stress how nice the paint is. And such nice features, Digital Dash, 4 wheel disc brakes, tubular a-arms, and really expensive Year One Chrome Super Stock wheels and Mickey Thompson tires. The previous owner tried to do it right. It’s not a trailer Queen, Just a really good looking car to have fun with and enjoy."

Paint is only as good as the body work underneath it. I question the bodywork and prep work done on this car. Doesn't seem like good quality. Plus the pain color scheme is hideous.

Car sold for $19,500

Seller stated:
"may be new to this auction business, but I’m not new to the car business. Every car can’t be a 100 point restoration, This is a great driver car with plenty of eye appeal. It would make a great car for someone that doesn’t have 80 grand to plunk down. I also don’t understand why I have to read such negative comments about the car. Why don’t you “know it all’s” go back to your room, and play with your hot wheels, and leave the auction to rational people."

Blows me away how twenty grand is nothing anymore. Well they bought a unique vehicle that's for sure.

$20k is still a lot of money for most people. I bought a brand new Mazda SUV (AWD) for $26k back in 2018. I understand the market has changed and is changing again.

That car was worth maybe $10k at best in my view. The wacky paint job, poor quality work, and the rusty undercarriage were huge deterrents. It looked like some Frankenstein car with it trying to be a 442, a Cutlass S, a low rider, fake vinyl top, etc. Very poorly executed. I would be embarrassed to drive that thing.

Ha ha ha. I agree. That car is so ugly. Inside and out.

When you figure what you would spend to fix all it needs you are better off starting from scratch.

I read this post and I agree No1oldsfan, to each their own. I'd not have set this car up that way but not everyone has an eye for design.

I agree on ten grand max. I wouldn't even have spent that. To each there own though I guess. 🤢🤮

Imagine what it is like in person. We can see all kinds of things that need attention from pictures. When it rolls up and you look deep...🤔🤯
