Is it just me? Aren't the emblems way off?

Just curious to see whatever thinks of this? Might be interested in adding a 442 convertible, i've reached out to seller to see if 4 spd is original, is there a VIN on the trans that could confirm if it was numbers matching? Says he added P/S and Power disc brakes, were 442s offered that didn't have these options from the factory? I asked for a pic of the cowl tag as well.

There's a lot that isn't original. 69-72 seats which would indicate a bench to bucket seat swap. The engine bay is an incorrect mess. Disc brakes were most likely added. Fender emblem placement looks like they are correct laterally for the W36 stripe but too low vertically. Missing the dash stripe.

That all being said, as long as it isn't a rusty mess underneath, $23,500 is cheap and well worth the price

Wouldn't 69-72 seats have headrests? WTH is that chain behind the PS pump? Is that the "fix" for the bad GM engine mounts (I didn't think Olds engine mounts suffered from that issue). The rear bumper looks pushed-up in the middle, and the tail lights look a little misaligned. The driver's door looks to be a slightly different shade from the fender/quarter on that side. It'd be nice to see a photo of the trunk or door jambs and w/ the top up. The cowl tag will reveal if the paint color has been changed. But yeah, for the price a decent looking driver (assuming it HAS a top).

The headrest post mounts are probably still in the seat.

I recovered a set of 69 seats in the 68 pattern on mine but I kept the headrests

Reached out to the seller, he sent me a video of the car running, said "The car is a good driver. No rust, it has a front clip off of a yellow car. I think it was originally green, but there's no fender tag."

I'm assuming the "no fender tag" mean on cowl data plate, but i asked just to clarify. Don't think i'm all that interested if the cowl tag is gone. How significant is it is the cowl tag is gone?

I'd be more concerned with checking the VIN. The cowl tag can say whatever you want and it's legal to replace it in every state except Oklahoma

Boy the more you look at that car the more it looks slapped together. 24k and you get a universal top radiator hose. You get a chain doing something. The wiring looks super sketchy. Electrical issues can go on and on. Painted resale red. No rust but how much Bondo? Maybe it's just the lighting but that driver's fender looks to be a different red. Emblems in the wrong location. No cowl tag? That sounds like a heavy hit. He said the front clip was yellow and the rest was green? Obviously an aftermarket radiator and master cylinder. Motor looks tired from here. If someone built that car that cared so many things would have been done differently. I could never see dropping that kind of cash for that car. I bet the more you look the more you would find. Did you ask how old the paint job is and if the car was all painted at the same time? Fool and their money though. Hard pass for me

Good call. Too many flags for me. I wonder what the frame looks like.

It's definitely the type of car you really have to check over but the price is right. I assume you're not local to it then because you're not going to find another one this cheap.

I personally like this one. It's not much different that the one above though.

Old school engine mount backup / movement limiter. I used that technique for a while way back in the day until I could buy new mounts and get around to installing them. IIRC some Camaros had a recall or campaign through GM that added a similar device made of cable.
