Thumbs up 1968 Delmont 88 Convertible - SOLD

SOLD

For Sale, $1500.00

Location Southeast WI.

Pictures here..

https://classicoldsmobile.com/g/album/4384518

Have additional Delmont 88 badges for fenders I'll throw in (good quality), along with a box of additional parts (headlight bezels, and the like).

Starts, runs and drives great otherwise. Put in new drums and shoes a couple of summers ago too. Car has been driven every summer since I bought it, and stored each winter.

Trailer hitch was removed shortly after I bought the car (immediately after I rammed my shin into it).

It is a '68, and of course has rust, holes (floor pans are decent still, but not the trunk), Bondo, and other normal flaws for a non-restored 49 year old car. Factory radio (non-working, never looked into the problem either though). 152K miles.

Put a new battery in it Friday night.

Ask questions, please ask them; and I'll try to answer you as fast as I can.

*edit to fix typo and add miles*
*2nd edit update price*
*3rd edit - added battery*

Update: The brakes are now repaired (or at least will be as of Friday the 20th, when I pick it up from the shop), and car will be back to 100% road ready.

I may also add this has the 455 2bbl engine for what it's worth.

Please make sure you update your asking price once you get the brakes fixed. Definitely a cool car. GLWS!

I had a '68 Delmont Convertible not too long ago and boy do I miss her now! What a smooth, comfortable ride. They were such well-built, solid cars. The only thing it lacked (aside from the lack of nearly any optional equipment) was an abundance of power, as it was equipped with the base 350/2-bbl engine. It didn't have the 455 that yours enjoys. If this car was closer to me, it would be in my driveway by now.

Good luck with your sale. When it's gone, I hope you don't miss yours as much as I miss mine.

Thanks, yeah - she rides like a sofa down the road. I just added a few more pictures of the old Banana Boat - nothing too interesting though. The Body by Fisher tag is nearly illegible (even in person)

They're great cars. Mine was the same color as yours. It became known as "The Flesh Torpedo"

Man I wish you were closer!

Updated ad, put new battery in car, and replaced front brake line.

Solid driver now.

I definitely like your car. Please confirm that you are asking $1,500. Unless I'm mistaken that is what your first post still reads.

Yes, I was going to raise the pric after repairing the brake line and tossing in a new battery; but decided not to.

$1500 is the asking price.

Wow.... WOW. Someone is gonna get a killer deal!

If you were not halfway across the country i would be there right now willing to risk a divorce to drag that home at that price.

Good luck with your sale... i don't imagine you will have any trouble.

Bittersweet day.

Had 7 different people wanting to stop by and check it out last night after work. The first guy that stopped by bought it. Got my asking price, and I only spent about an hour in all, trying to sell it. I would have never thought it would sell that fast.

Thanks all!!
