I have a slightly different take on the decoding.

393 = blue vinyl bucket seats (no two-tone)
B = add the word "strato" as in blue vinyl strato bucket seats

I don't think this means much, though, as the standard seat in all '67 Cutlass coupes and convertibles, 442 included, was the "Strato Bucket" according to the '67 Dealer Specs book. Also, according to the specs book, one could have opted for a bench seat (officially called "custom sport" seat) in a coupe or a convertible at no charge.

The "5" in "5VY" just refers to the fifth option group, and the V and the Y mean two different things, according to my decoder.

V = W-29 trim (all 442 markings and equipment)
W = deluxe seat belts

And, yes, it should be ST-33807, not ST-38807. There was no 8807 series.

Pretty nice car, wonder why the trim is in the trunk. If quarters and perhaps rear wheel wells were repaired the trim may not go back on properly and those areas may need reworking. I believe the sport coupes all had the 2 tone interiors except the black and off white ones.

I corrected the 388 to 338.

The code translations came from the ebay auction were I bought the car from. The auction also stated it was rust free.

As stated in the original post the front fenders and rear quarters have patch panels! The trim was never attempted to be put back on the car. This is the way I bought it except for a dead battery, empty gas tank and 10lbs of dust

The price is $14K/ offer not $44K.

I just got back from a 60 mile round trip to a cruise night. It's a driver fixer upper at a driver fixer upper price.

Good Luck, Looks Good.

How is the electric fuel pump secured / what is it or its bracket secured to? That looks a good place for it but I'm curious how it was done.
